The New Hood Policy Lab (The Lab) is a sequential workshop series on public policy development and analysis. The Lab guides the participants through the multiple stages of crafting a policy recommendation to an issue they have identified in their community. The series concludes with a policy memo co-written by the participants and The New Hood staff, along with a plan for advocacy and adoption of the policy recommendation. The New Hood will arrange meetings with local elected officials and/or their staff for the participants to present their policy recommendation, thus empowering them as policy advocates for their future.
